International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) is offering a variety of conference and training opportunities for pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. They include an international conference on regulations and a selection of courses focused on good automation manufacturing practices (GAMP).

ISPE’s first Global Regulatory GMP Conference will feature experts from leading regulatory agencies and the worldwide pharmaceutical industry, the organization announced recently. Scheduled for Sept. 19-21, 2005, in Prague, Czech Republic, the three-day meeting will gather together European, U.S., and Japanese regulators and pharmaceutical manufacturers to discuss mutual concerns. Theme of the conference is “New regulatory initiatives and achieving international harmonization.” It is part of a year-round program of educational events organized by ISPE, a non-to-profit society of pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. Also on tap from ISPE are sessions addressing Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) issues, part of the organization’s Chicago Training Series scheduled for Aug. 22-25 in suburban Itasca, IL. The Series opens with a one-day meeting of the GAMP Americas Forum. Open to all pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals, the forum gives attendees the opportunity to participate in the creation and sharing of computer systems validation and compliance guidance, recommendations, and example practices. The forum will be followed by 10 training sessions, including a course on the basics of computer systems validation. Other courses will focus on such topics as pharmaceutical GMPs, water systems, cleaning, technology transfer, and biopharmaceutical process development.
