Product Exclusive: Industrial data acquisition and control system
The Dataforth MAQ20 Industrial Data Acquisition and Control System is a family of DIN rail-mounted, programmable, multi-channel, industrially rugged signal conditioning input and output modules and communication modules for factory, process, and machine automation; military and aerospace; power and energy; oil and gas; and environmental monitoring applications.
The new MAQ20 Industrial Data Acquisition and Control System from Dataforth Corp. is said to be a high- performance, highly flexible system for factory, process, and machine automation; military and aerospace; power and energy; oil and gas; and environmental monitoring applications.
The initial MAQ20 system offering is a family of DIN rail-mounted, programmable, multi-channel, industrially rugged signal conditioning input and output modules and communication modules. Modules mount on the industry standard 35 x 7.5 mm gull-wing DIN rail; a backbone mounts within the rail to provide power and communication interconnections between the communication modules and each I/O module.
“This system is so powerful, and compact,” says Bill McGovern, national sales manager. “One communication module can interface to up to 24 I/O modules to construct a system with a maximum of 384 channels that fits within a standard 19-in. instrumentation rack.”
MAQ20 modules include two different communication modules, analog input modules (process voltage, process current, thermocouple, RTD, strain gage, frequency), analog output modules (process current, voltage output), and discrete input/output modules with five channels of input and five of output per module.
Key features include:
- ReDAQ Shape monitoring and control software
- 1500 Vrms channel-to-bus isolation
- ±0.035% accuracy
- –40 C to +75 C operating temperature
System power comes from a 7-34 V dc power source connected to the communication module; for additional power, load-sharing power boost modules can be installed in standard I/O module slots.
The out-of-the-box ReDAQ Shape for MAQ20 software enables users to easily create, save, and open graphical user interface projects for test, process, data collection, and data analysis applications.
Together, MAQ20 and ReDAQ Shape create an extremely powerful easy-to-use system for industrial data acquisition and control.
