ProMat 2013: Guardrails, lifts for enhanced worker safety

The EdgeGard, 4XLift, and Wilgard are designed to provide safety for workers on the factory floor and meet OSHA, ANSI/ASME worker safety requirements

EdgeGard gates

EdgeGard gates have been tested to withstand the 200 lb. OSHA 1910.23 load force protection requirement. For increased visibility, the gates have black safety striping and a durable bright yellow polyurethane paint finish. When closed, the gates are 42” high (above floor level) and they are offered in four configurations to adapt to specific customer needs. The heavy-duty EdgeGard Straight-Rail Gate is available for either 8 ft. or 10 ft. wide openings with the 10 ft. wide gate requiring 167” of overhead height clearance when raised. The Straight-Rail Gate also features counterbalanced gas cylinders that make opening an effortless task.

4XLift

The 4XLift is designed and manufactured to meet ANSI/ASME B20.1 “Safety Standard for Conveyors” and all codes and regulations that pertain to VRCs. The 4XLift is available in two lifting capacities. The “standard” capacity is 15,000 lbs and the “high load” capacity 4XLift handles loads up to 30,000 lbs. The standard carriage platform accepts loads up to 12 ft wide by 30 ft. long, and larger platform sizes are available. The 4XLift comes equipped with a rugged lifting motor rated for continuous duty and features dual roller chains, a high service gearbox, and an alloy steel drive shaft that has been specially designed for durability and long service life.

Wilgard

Wilgard is designed to protect expensive equipment, shield in-plant offices and work areas, and define traffic patterns for fork trucks and plant personnel. Wilgard protective railing systems feature strong corrugated 11 gauge steel rails and structural tube columns. Hefty thick base plates properly anchored with the included hardware ensure that the system can take a hit without failure. Wilgard railing systems are available with high columns to support single-rail, double-rail, or triple-rail guardrail. Lift-out guardrail systems are also available in single-rail or double-rail configurations for servicing, cleaning, and repair.
