TS Series TrunkSafe FOUNDATION fieldbus system from MooreHawke is said to provide complete redundancy and automatic switchover in case of a segment fault. It maintains continuous communication between a control system and instruments on a FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 segment, and enables the control system to switch to a redundant path if a failure occurs on a fieldbus segment. The method helps prevent loss of a complete segment, the shutdown of associated equipment, and potential catastrophic process failures. TrunkSafe segment consists of two TPS200 advanced power conditions, a fieldbus cable from each power conditioner, and a TS200 fault tolerant device coupler (available for 6 or 10 field devices). System also provides a hard-wired alarm to alert operators to a cable fault; LEDs indicate which cable is affected and what type of fault has occurred.
