Richmond, VA – Weidmuller expanded and improved its line of industrial relays for the OEM and process control industries with the Riderseries family. The industrial relay modules and bases can be specified and ordered separately, or as one part number kit that includes the relay, base, LED indicator, retaining clip, and markers. Pre-assembled kits are available in popular configurations, including 24 V dc, 24 V ac, 115 V ac, and 230 V ac, in single-pole-double throw and double-pole double-throw versions. A handful of kits can replace dozens of small items, simplifying ordering and inventory management, and reducing costs.Relays feature rail-mounted bases with industry-proven screw connections, and the company’s push-in technology to reduce installation time up to 75%. Solid and crimped conductors can be inserted without the need to open the clamping point. Each connection has two clamping points for conductors up to 1.5 mm2 (16 AWG). Push-in connection technology delivers secure connections for high-vibration applications.Features include heavy-duty industrial pinning to prevent accidental pin bending. Excellent contact properties are provided so that the relay can switch loads up to 16 A with 24 V dc or 230 V ac for power or signal switching. To split the signal, two changeover contacts are used; each is able to switch loads of up to 8 A with 24 V dc or 230 V ac. Color coding on the ac and dc inputs simplifies identification and correct wiring. An integrated status LED and freewheeling diode protect the circuit from inductive kickback damage and provide fast detection of the switching status. It eliminates an extra component, streamlining spare parts inventory, and reducing assembly time. The test lever on each relay allows for mechanical operation of contacts so output circuit can be tested without energizing the coil. The lever can temporarily or continuously lock contacts closed for hands-free testing.Weidmuller offers 2-pin jumpers for cross connections. With two clamping points on each connection point, push-in cross connection can be made, leaving the second point free for other connections to provide flexible, space-saving wiring options. All relays have CE and cURus approvals. Also read about:
