Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced it has completed a global distribution agreement with TRU Corporation, which specializes in the design, development and manufacture of custom, high performance RF/microwave interconnect solutions. TRU’s High Power cable assemblies provide power handling and custom cable assembly capabilities are utilized to build a wide range of assemblies, sometimes over 100 feet. TRU’s range of cables and connectors for High Power functions creates an opportunity to provide unique assemblies for niche applications.

In addition to their High Power cable assembly capabilities, TRU also offers a wide range of RF connectors. Their EIA and MEIA line of connectors are specifically produced for High Power applications. These products provide Richardson RFPD with a complete power connector offering for their renewable energy, power conversion and interconnect customers.

“TRU offers a unique product expansion for us within the RF market, in a niche area in which we have not traditionally participated,” stated Kevin Connor, Richardson RFPD vice president of Energy, Power & Interconnect. “High Power cable assemblies bridge the gap between RF and microwave and create a path to future opportunities in the energy and power markets. While we will initially focus on High Power cable assemblies, TRU’s product offering will allow Richardson RFPD to expand into alternative energy RF interconnect applications.”

Norm Brodeur, vice president of marketing of TRU responded: “We are very pleased to have Richardson RFPD as a global distribution partner for our RF connector and cable assembly products. Their technical sales force provides our customers with unique insight and support for our RF power product solutions, and as a premier distributor in the energy and power markets, we believe Richardson RFPD is a natural partner to bring greater value to our customers around the world.”

Richardson RFPD’s worldwide field sales engineering teams are now assisting design engineers in integrating TRU connectors and cable assemblies into High Power designs.

Like Fort Knox. Solid defense in depth.
Well defended, I think, but not positive.
Working on it, but not there yet.
