Urbana, OH– Rittal Corp ., in response to the market demand for UL Type 4X Stainless Steel Air Conditioners, began producing 115V, 230V and 400/460 V 3-phase units at its Urbana, Ohio facility at the end of 2008. The decision to start production in the US has greatly improved availability and reduced costs for customers by 10%, company says. These TopTherm PLUS air conditioners range in cooling capacity from 2,083 to 10,400 BTU’s and all of them employ Rittal’s RiNano coating on the condenser coils to repel dirt, oil and other contaminants for increased performance and longer maintenance intervals. Protecting the coils in this way also drastically improves efficiency and reduces carbon emissions by up to 2,000 lb per unit, per year. All but the smallest units have built-in condensate evaporators, which eliminate the need for collection bottles, and can be purchased with an optional comfort controller for enhanced security and monitoring capabilities, company says.Rittal says its UL Type 4X Stainless Steel Air Conditioners are ideal for harsh environments and processing industries where hygiene, frequent washdowns and/or corrosion resistance are operational realities.Related reading:- Rittal teaches how to select enclosure filter fans to meet electronics airflow needs ; and- Enclosures: Improve NEMA designs, enclose wireless equipment, keep cabinets cool .Rittal www.rittal-corp.com
