Rockwell Automation signs resale agreement for soft CNC
Milwaukee, Wis. and Pleidelsheim, Germany - Rockwell Automation and Power Automation, a provider of soft CNCs, announced May 8 that Rockwell Automation Global Manufacturing Solutions will resell the Power Automation PA 8000 soft computerized numerical control (CNC) for machine tool and powertrain applications.
Milwaukee, Wis. and Pleidelsheim, Germany - Rockwell Automation and Power Automation , a provider of soft CNCs, announced May 8 that Rockwell Automation Global Manufacturing Solutions will resell the Power Automation PA 8000 soft computerized numerical control (CNC) for machine tool and powertrain applications.
The action comes in response to end-user and OEM demand for an open, flexible CNC-based control solution that incorporates Rockwell Automation Logix, NetLinx, and ViewAnyWare architectures. These architectures deliver diagnostics and machine performance information needed to increase productivity and improve manufacturing. Combining the open CNC expertise of Power Automation with the control, networking, and human machine interface strengths of Rockwell Automation will allow end users to simplify the multi-axis control integration required for machine tool and powertrain applications.

Power Automation was founded in 1993 and became publicly held in 1998. The company develops and sells software and hardware for PC-based CNC systems.
Rockwell Automation brings together leading brands in industrial automation including Allen-Bradley controls and engineered services, Rockwell Software factory management software, Dodge mechanical power transmission products, and Reliance Electric motors and drives. The company also is a provider of contact management technologies and applications that help companies more efficiently manage interaction with their own customers.
