Rockwell’s new Asia Pacific business center to employ 400

Republic of Singapore—Rockwell Automation plans to establish an Asia Pacific Business Center in Singapore, the company announced recently. When fully operational in 2008, the Center is expected employ approximately 400 for R&D, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing activities.

Republic of SingaporeRockwell Automation plans to establish an Asia Pacific Business Center in Singapore, the company announced recently. When fully operational in 2008, the Center is expected employ approximately 400 for R&D, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing activities. The Center will begin operations next month.

"The Center will be the world headquarters for several business segments that are in demand in Asia," said Steve Eisenbrown, senior vice president of Rockwell's Automation Control and Information Group. The Allen-Bradley brand of small logic controllers (SLC), MicroLogix, distributed input/output modules, and component operator display product lines will be headquartered at the new center. Engineering and marketing for the component drives business will also relocate there. Rockwell has been operating in Singapore since 1991, with a regional sales and service support office, a training center, and a regional marketing center. The company also has a distributor and partner network in the area.

Singapore is striving to become an Asia-Pacific controls and automation hub. The region already hosts a number of other major manufacturers.
