Rotary electric encoder increases reliability

Netzer’s new encoder’s structure provides mounting tolerance, which obviates the need for internal ball bearings. The lack of bearings and components such as flexible couplers, glass discs, light sources, and detectors, along with low power consumption makes the DS-25 encoder less likely to fail.

The internally shielded encoder includes an electric field generator, a field receiver, a sinusoidal-shaped dielectric rotor, and processing electronics. The outputs signals of the DS-25 Electric Encoder are analog sine and cosine, representing the rotation angle, incremental or absolute position.

The DS-25 is well-suited for demanding applications such as aerospace, medical, instrumentation, and automation.
