ControlWave Express RTU from Emerson Process Management is said to combine automation technologies and concepts into a hybrid system for remote measurement and control applications in the energy, water, and wastewater industries.

ControlWave Express remote terminal unit (RTU) from Emerson Process Management offers versatility and compactness with a low-profile and low power consumption. Express RTU hardware can be used as a component of networked systems for remote applications or as part of the Bristol Express PAC system for SCADA applications.

Remote automation system architecture meets the requirements of the energy, water, and wastewater industries. Applications particularly well suited to the small I/O point count include water pump, tank, well and reservoir control, wastewater life station, and storm water monitoring, and natural gas well, storage, and plunger lift control.

RTU features wide temperature operation (-40 to 70 °C) and is designed to meet CE and UL Class I, Div. 2 hazardous location requirements. It has three serial communication ports and an optional 10/100 Mb Ethernet I/P port. Bristol OPC server is available for open access to most HMI products. ControlWave Express includes ControlWave Designer programming software that supports all five IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
