Ruggedized expansion cards for industrial computers

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories'(SEL) EL-3390S8 and EL-3390E4 expansion cards can be used in harsh environments.

August 29, 2014

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories’ (SEL) ruggedized expansion cards withstand vibration, shock, electrical surges, high levels of RFI, and wide temperature ranges.

The SEL-3390S8 serial adapter card comes with standard PCIe x1 edge connector and RIG-B time synchronization for the SEL-3355 computer. Each serial port provides up to 921 Kbps data rates, +5 Vdc port power, and IRIG-B synchronization signals. The RJ45 to DB-9 adapter cables allow for up to six EIA-232/-485/-422 multidrop connections per card. Up to four SEL-3390S8 serial adapters can be added to each SEL-3355 Computer.

The EL-3390E4 four-port Gigabit Ethernet card comes with standard PCIe x4 edge connector and four independent 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports for connecting up to four different networks. The EL-3390E4 has copper and fiber-optic connections which include 4 RJ45 copper ports, 4 LC small form-factor pluggable (SFP) fiber-optic ports, or 2 RJ45 and 2 SFP ports. Up to two SEL-3390E4 cards can be added to each SEL-3355 computer.
