The participants represent electrical engineers (median salary: $57,287); senior electrical engineers (median salary: $75,880); electrical/electronic engineering technicians (median salary: $49,749); electrical design engineers (median salary: $59,297); project engineers (median salary $65,327); and mechanical engineers (median salary: $35,176).

Further breakdowns from the survey include median salary by city, median salary by employer type, and a number of categories that zero in on specific criteria such as state, years of experience, industry, age, gender, company size, degree or major subject, school name, and certification.

Parsing the information to elicit myriad details, the report reveals hourly rates, bonuses, commissions, profit sharing, hourly billings, vacation weeks, and commute times.
