GE Fanuc Water Solution Pack 2008 delivers new tools and functionality that drives a sustainable advantage for Proficy HMI/SCADA– iFIX customers with the addition of an industry-specific dynamo library, NERC-recommended security features, and tighter integration with OPS Systems’ Water/Wastewater reporting software. Proficy HMI/SCADA – iFIX, a next-generation visualization, control and real-time information management solution, enables users to drive better analytics and leverage more reliability, flexibility, and scalability across the enterprise. Features include enhanced failover, integrated historian, and new trend charts.“GE Fanuc’s deep understanding of the water industry is incorporated into this product,” said Alan Hinchman, GE Fanuc’s global industry manager for the water industry. He added that it provides benefits to users that address key needs like security and regulatory reporting.Users can reduce development time and promote standardization with 150+ new water industry dynamos; advanced pump and valve objects; OPS SQL reporting software integration; and NERC-recommended electronic signatures and biometric toolkit for increased security. Other features include iFIX’s PLC Discover and Auto Configure tool in addition to special database blocks and dynamos for popular PLCs, as well as advanced pre-scripted dynamos that reduce development time. The Water Solutions Pack extends NERC recommended electronic signatures and includes a Biometric toolkit for increased security with SCADA systems. Tools come built in with audit trails to maintain security reports. The Pack can be ordered for Proficy iFIX 4.5 and 5.0 and targets municipal, regional, and industrial water and wastewater customers that want to reduce the cost of installation and operation of SCADA control systems at their sites. Control Microsystems

Control Microsystems 2009 Edition of ClearSCADA

The Control Microsystems 2009 Edition of ClearSCADA allows external programs to connect to ClearSCADA with .NET API. With 64-bit OS, users have powerful server hardware for their infrastructure, allowing larger database sizes. Actions such as configuration and system monitoring and control can be performed. Detailed error reporting and Intellisense; a tool to help developers write code for an application, are featured. Also new is the integration of Kepware’s KepServerEX OPC Server to boost connectivity with third-party devices. The suite of Kepware OPC drivers adds more than 50 device protocols and allows ClearSCADA to support hundreds of third-party products. Driver enhancements include a Direct SMS Driver facilitating messages to be sent straight to a mobile phone, and a Driver Development Kit, providing a .NET 2.0 framework for creating custom communication drivers in any .NET 2.0-compliant language.A ClearSCADA 2009 demo may be downloaded (403 MB) from the company Website. Semaphore

Semaphore 1-Wire interface the T-Box line of SCADA system products

The Semaphore 1-Wire interface the T-Box line of SCADA system products is a half duplex communications network that uses a single wire to provide data transmission and power and provides access to a range of small, inexpensive sensor devices used in energy management, infrastructure management, and environmental monitoring applications.Semaphore has developed 1-Wire communications compatibility with support for two products from Maxim Integrated Products, Dallas Semiconductor. DS18S20 is a high-precision, digital thermometer with an alarm function. It is appropriate to applications in HVAC environmental controls, temperature monitoring in buildings, machines and mobile assets, and process monitoring and control systems. DS2438 is a smart battery monitor with on-chip temperature sensing for use in battery packs for portable equipment with temperature, current, and voltage measurement requirements.T-Box leverages Web technologies and public networks for decentralized monitoring and control systems and offers up to 50% less total installed cost per point versus traditional SCADA/ PLC systems. Also read:
