It is reportedly smart enough to "self teach" target vs. background—even when the target is moving at line speed. The 6K is available in sensing modes, including diffuse, retroreflective, and through-beam.
Florence, Ky.— According to its developer, the 6K subminiature optical sensor is more than “teachable.” It is reportedly smart enough to “self teach” target vs. background—even when the target is moving at line speed. The 6K is available in sensing modes, including diffuse, retroreflective, and through-beam. Models with electronic background suppression and clear-object detection capability are offered. The 6K uses a bright red light source to aid in quick alignment. The visible light also helps detect a wider range of colors than possible with infrared. Sensing ranges up to 300 mm are available in diffuse models. The device measures 1.5 x 0.75 x 0.5 in.
