New 5-beam wide-angle sensor features wide area triangulation sensing capability. Device offers a 25°-wide measuring angle and comes in three detection ranges from 4 to 300 cm. Sensors are part of the company’s lineup of lead-free parts that comply with the RoHS directive. Other benefits include no moving parts, low energy consumption, continuous distance reading, and low reflective interference. Typical applications include robotics, HVAC, security, and in equipment that remains in the “sleep” mode until a user approaches.
