Siemens Energy & Automation reports that it’s purchasing IndX Software Corp. to help it expand its range of IT solutions for industrial management in the process industries, especially in the oil and gas sector. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

IndX supplies of software solutions that provide a common view of diverse technical and business-management data, enabling managers and operators of large industrial manufacturers to control production more efficiently. The company will continue to operate at its present location, though its name will change slightly to “IndX Software Corp.—A Siemens Company,” and it will be a consolidated part of Siemens Energy & Automation Inc.
