Siemens buys RSVI Acuity CiMatrix
Atlanta, GA—Siemens Energy and Automation Inc. has completed the acquisition of RVSI Acuity CiMatrix, a division of Robotic Visions Systems Inc., Nashua, NH.
Atlanta, GA — Siemens Energy and Automation Inc. has completed the acquisition of RVSI Acuity CiMatrix, a division of Robotic Visions Systems Inc., Nashua, NH. Siemens made the purchase offer in August. A binding asset purchase agreement was signed with the Chapter 11 Trustee and Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. The sale was completed following approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
RVSI Acuity CiMatrix is expected to enhance Siemens' position in the machine vision market. Siemens reportedly will invest in the Nashua location, which will become its global center of competence for machine vision sensors. RSVI Acuity CiMatrix employs approximately 100 people, who will join Siemens' business structure.
