Siemens expands IP65/67 distributed I/O line

The Simatic ET 200eco PN compact block I/O modules with a Profinet interface have been added to the range of IP65/67-rated distributed I/O systems from Siemens.

Nuremberg, Germany —The Simatic ET 200eco PN compact block I/O modules with a Profinet interface have been added to the range of IP65/67-rated distributed I/O systems from Siemens Industry Automation Division. Announced at the SPS/IPC/Drives Show, November 25-27, 2008, the I/O modules are fully sealed in a zinc die-cast housing and are available with 8 or 16 digital inputs and with 8 or 16 digital outputs.

Inputs and outputs, power supply and communications network are connected by means of industry-standard M12 connectors. Simatic ET 200eco PN is designed for distributed installation direct at the machine and supports both Profinet star and line topologies within a system.
