Siemens to acquire RVSI Acuity CiMatrix

Siemens Energy and Automation, Inc. announced it has completed the acquisition of the assets of RVSI Acuity CiMatrix, a division of Robotic Visions Systems, Inc. headquartered in Nashua, NH.

On August 26, 2005, Siemens submitted an offer for the intended purchase of the assets of RVSI Acuity CiMatrix and a binding asset purchase agreement was signed between the Chapter 11 Trustee and Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. The sale was completed after receiving approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) is a factory automation solutions provider and has made a commitment to strengthen its position in factory automation sensors. RVSI Acuity CiMatrix provides machine vision systems and is expected to enhance Siemens’ position in this key market segment. Siemens will likely invest in the Nashua location, which will become its global center of competence for machine vision sensors. RSVI Acuity CiMatrix employs approximately 100 people, who will be integrated into the Siemens business structure.
