Simulator upgrade: MiMiC driver for open Modbus TCP/IP

By Control Engineering Staff September 5, 2007

Mynah has developed a MiMiC simulation driver that allows I/O and process simulation for devices that support the Modbus TCP/IP protocol. This is significant for MiMiC users because the driver provides key functionality for plants that operate with Modbus’ Ethernet platform.

The new simulation driver reportedly adds several important functions:

High-speed simulation for Modbus controllers;

Quick and easy setup using commercial Ethernet networks; and,

World-class simulation for devices supporting Industrial Ethernet.

This simulation driver allows non-intrusive simulation for controllers that support Modbus TCP/IP protocols such as Schneider Quantum PLCs and HIMA SIS PLCs. Mynah says it takes about 15 minutes to configure and simulate Modbus registers. The Open Modbus TCP/IP driver is available now, and included in the Modbus Modicon driver pack, MIM-2102, which is supported in MiMiC v2.8.45 or higher.
