Single-channel thermocouple to USB converter
Low-cost device digitizes TC data, includes supporting software for connection via USB input.

New single-channel thermocouple-to-USB interface from Measurement Computing provides simple connectivity for a wide range of thermocouple types. The low-cost unit includes the necessary software for Microsoft Windows and Linux-based operating systems. It also uses DAQFlex, the company’s protocol that permits programming of DAQ devices using simple text-based messages.
• Supports B, E, J, K, N, R, S, and T type thermocouples;
• 20-bit ADC resolution with 250 ms conversion time;
• Integrated cold junction compensation (CJC); and
• Operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C (32 to 131 °F).
The company says the DAQFlex protocol greatly simplifies driver and application development, because all DAQ operations are programmed through a common command interface, which uses a consistent, extensible firmware interface and an open-source, cross-platform API.
