Sixnet launches tough industrial Ethernet switch
Clifton Park, NY—Sixnet reports that its military-strength Ethernet switch recently joined its Etherbus product line.
Sixnet reports that its military-strength Ethernet switch recently joined its Etherbus product line. The switch, EB-GT-8ES-1EP, is an extended-power, eight-port switch rated strong enough to comply with MIL-STD-1275. These rugged Ethernet switches serve in demanding military applications, such as installation on Stryker LAVs (light-armored vehicles). Their dependability is also proven in aircraft, naval vessels, ground support facilities, and missile delivery systems.
Sixnet adds that EB-GT-8ES-1EP’s rugged features set it apart from other industrial switches. It offers protection against over voltage, power dips, and power spikes as large at 250 volts. The switch’s packaging is IP67 rated against water, oil, dust, and is extremely vibration and corrosion resistant. The switch has been certified for marine and offshore use, and is reliable in conditions of -40 to 60 °C. Also, Sixnet’s Ethernet switches provide an ultra reliable 1 million hours MTBF (mean time between failure).
In addition, EB-GT-8ES-1EP includes fieldbus-style, real-time Ethernet technology, which mounts directly onto a machine or vehicle, with no enclosure required. This allows for many mounting possibilities, and provides reduced installation costs and deterministic control. Sixnet adds that its Ethernet switches have long been accepted in industry and have guaranteed long-term availability. Sixnet also offers robust and reliable three, five, and nine-port industrial Ethernet switches.
