Animatics' new SM23165MT-IP SmartMotor with mil-style connectors offers IP65 ratings with the convenience of a smaller frame size for compact applications.Animatics' new SM23165MT-IP SmartMotor with mil-style connectors offers IP65 ratings with the convenience of a smaller frame size for compact applications, the company said. The SM23165MT-IP combines the quality and capabilities of the SmartMotor integrated servo in combination with an IP65 rating. The sturdy design and thicker motor casing provides protection, durability, and resists cable stresses, meaning a longer motor life and less down time. Any factory process using washdown techniques or wet processing environments can benefit from the easily programmable SmartMotor and its unique features such as Combitronic communication protocol and stand alone linear interpolation, the company said.

For the IP65-rated SmartMotor, it is reportedly completely dust-tight but also protected from ingress of liquid that may occur from any angle, rendering no harmful effects on the electrical enclosure. The SM23165MT-IP is said to be able to withstand splashing water, oil or food debris as well as rainy conditions. Conditions with high levels of humidity and condensation are no longer a problem this SmartMotor motion control system, Animatics said.

The option to upgrade to an IP67 option is also available for applications requiring complete servo motor submersion up to one meter deep in water or other non-hazardous liquids for up to 30 minutes.

Like Fort Knox. Solid defense in depth.
Well defended, I think, but not positive.
Working on it, but not there yet.
Few defenses, but who would find us?
