SMSC, user group introduce Arcnet/Ethernet IP Gateway
Hauppauge, NY—Standard Microsystems Corp. (SMSC) and Arcnet User Group Europe e. V. (AUG) recently introduced their Arcnet/Ethernet IP Gateway to allow seamless connectivity to existing LAN networks.
SMSC reports that its Arcnet products are one of the most popular solutions for real-time networking solutions. These implementations are mostly, individually embedded network solutions.
'One of the major goals of the Arcnet/Ethernet IP Gateway is to encourage design engineers to use all the benefits of Arcnet when building proprietary local network applications, without being limited by connectivity to existing LANs. The AUG's Linux-based open source software package will allow designers to easily integrate remote maintenance and visualization tools into their automation projects,' says Ulrich Rixinger, AUG's board member.
mitment to provide complete solutions for the embedded marketplace,' adds Johnson Tan, SMSC's LAN products director.
Arcnet/Ethernet IP Gateway comes as a single board in PC104 format, and combines the SMSC COM20022 Arcnet device along with SMSC's LAN91C111 integrated Ethernet solution for the LAN connectivity portion.
