GE Fanuc Automation's (Charlottesville, VA) Cimplicity Machine Edition is designed for machine-based HMI, motion, and control applications. It enables fast, powerful object-oriented programming; a common user interface; drag-and-drop editing; and takes advantage of industry-standard technologies, such as XML, COM/DCOM, OPC, and ActiveX.

All components and applications share one workspace and tool set. A standardized user interface shortens Machine Edition's learning curve. Integration of new applications doesn't require learning additional paradigms.

The application includes three FrameworX-enabled products: View, Logic Developer, and Motion Developer. These three packages are tightly integrated and offer both for process monitoring and control.

View is a machine-level HMI, allowing users to visualize processes and control devices. It supports communication protocols from major PLCs, and includes OPC client and server drivers. It lets users publish data and graphical panels over the Web to a standard Web browser.

Logic developer works in a PLC and/or PC-based control environment, providing all tools needed to develop, monitor, and debug applications. It also provides full scalability from Microsoft Windows CE to Windows NT/2000, as well as across the spectrum of GE Fanuc PLCs.

Motion Developer enables motion control program development for GE Fanuc's S2K Series motion controllers. Plus, up to 100 motion blocks can be created and saved for use in future projects.
