ABB's (Wickliffe, OH) OptimizeITReal-Time Production Intelligence (Real-TPI) software is designed to automate data collection and analysis, and provide customized, detailed reports of production performance improvement opportunities. OptimizeITReal-TPI software combines the analytical power of three standard production evaluation processes:
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) enables comparing production data of different products, shifts, and plants;
Root Cause Analysis uses areas identified by OEE as a potential problem and narrows down root causes so timely corrective action can be taken; and
Total Productive Maintenance adjusts production procedures with the aim of improving production efficiency.
Additionally, OptimizeITReal-TPI provides real-time monitoring and archiving of production events.
OptimizeITReal-TPI consists of modules for data acquisition, data manipulation and storage, and visualization and reporting. Each module can be distributed over a local area network from most PLCs or distributed control systems. OptimizeITReal-TPI can retrieve and export data to/from most relational databases, reads values from text files, and handles event data in the millisecond range.
