Software expands vibrational spectroscopy capabilities
Madison, WI —Release of version 7.3 of Thermo Electron Corp .'s Omnic Professional Software suite expands capabilities of its FT-IR, Raman, and FT-NIR spectrometers. The software provides new time-based experiment features, Raman productivity tools, enhanced data transferability, additional capabilities for regulatory compliance, and compatibility with Thermo's dedicated FT-NIR systems.
The series software for time-based experiments has been enhanced with new 2-D and 3-D data visualization tools, programmable data collection events, and integrated data processing and analysis functions, such as a new one-click spectral search feature that lets users extract experiment results quickly and accurately. Version 7.3 adds features to improve sample analyses from Nicolet Almega XR dispersive Raman spectrometers. It also has automated fluorescence rejection to remove spectral interference and automated instrument alignment and calibration capabilities.
New data compatibility tools in this release let FT-IR or Raman users who are replacing older instruments to use, seamlessly, data files and libraries generated by major manufacturers when they update to Thermo instrumentation. New tools include automatic Software IQ that verifies correct software installation and Software OQ test scripts that allow the site-specific software functionality testing required by FDA computer system validation guidelines.
