ECT International has released a completely rewritten and redesigned version of its electrical design software package, promis-e.rovides SQL and Oracle support.
Separate drawing modes for schematics, panel layouts, and pneumatics let users control the behavior of the software and allow the use of different drawing types on the same page. The software can be run as an add-on to MicroStation CAD (computer-aided design) software. There is also an AutoCAD add-on version and a stand-alone version with its own CAD engine. A comprehensive API (application programming Interface) provides the functions, properties and events necessary to create custom programs.
Usability enhancements include:
• improved access to commonly used functions using Windows-like conventions
• new options for ID formats and page / project filenames that increase flexibility without adding complexity
• a centralized manager (that enables users to create, copy, rename and delete projects and pages) coupled with tree-structure organization and thumbnail views, allows quick location of desired drawings.
• step-by-step wizard software prompts users through procedures such as the creation of symbols and custom page formats.
