Beckhoff Automation has announced the KL2791 Bus Terminal for single-phase ac motor speed control, suitable for drives with quadratic load characteristics such as fans and pumps. It enables direct connection of small, 1 A, single-phase motors rated 120 V, 60 Hz. Improved speed control reduces the energy used by capacitor, universal, and shaded-pole motors, and provides noise reduction and an increase in service life of the motor. The set value for motor speed is specified by a 16-bit value. The unit comes in a standard bus terminal housing 12 mm wide. The terminal can be used in any of the fieldbus networks supported by the company’s system. www.beckhoffautomation.com Beckhoff Automation
