Syska Hennessy Group re-launches ICT practice

Syska Hennessy's ICT practice will focus on a number of products including IT, security, audiovisual, building automation, and fire and life safety.

04/20/2012

Syska Hennessy Group Inc. has announced the re-launch of its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) practice. Traditionally, this practice was a blend of individual services, and as those services have converged, Syska has organized its practices to create a fluid service where by each component can be managed and served from a single point.

Syska’s ICT practice will focus a blend of products including Information Technology, Security, Audiovisual, Building Automation, Fire Life Safety, Medical Communications and Intelligent Building Systems. These services are designed to provide ICT support and solutions for any organization looking to upgrade and converge its IT platform with communications. In addition to traditional infrastructure services, new expertise will include a wide-range of strategic and consulting capabilities such as virtualizing existing client environments, managing data center relocation, disaster recovery and IT security services as well as network and internet/intranet design and implementation.

The experienced professionals within the Syska Hennessy ICT group will administer the overall practice area, each continuing to support the company’s mission of “Creating exceptional environments” for their new and existing clients. At launch, the practice area will provide its services for a variety of clients and industries, including mission critical, healthcare companies, higher education organizations and any Fortune 500 company looking to update their campus.

John Passanante, Vice President of Technology for Syska Hennessy Group, will be heading up the new ICT practice area, overseeing operations and assuming technical leadership over a national team of 27 professionals.

Cyrus Izzo, PE, Co-President, said, “Syska Hennessy Group has been cultivating this practice area for several years now through the various ICT services we’ve offered, so it was a natural extension for us to take all of our  expertise and bring it together  under one world-class umbrella discipline,” stated Cyrus Izzo, Co-President of Syska Hennessy Group. “What’s most exciting about the launch of the new dedicated ICT practice area is we are taking our services to another level. While our previous work was limited to infrastructure and cabling support, we now have the ability to actually program an entire ICT platform for our client partners. We will be providing a full suite of comprehensive services, including working directly within an organization if that’s what is required.”

Gary Brennen, PE, Co-President, said, “We are pleased to announce this initiative, as this new Syska Hennessy ICT practice will strengthen our overall service offerings, as well as serve as a key driver for the future growth of our organization,” added Gary Brennen, Co-President of Syska Hennessy Group. “We've assembled some of the best talent in the space to manage this practice, each bringing a unique proficiency on how to build the most innovative ICT solutions for our clients.”

John Passanante, PE, RCDD, Vice President, said, “Proper ICT support for businesses demands effective planning, a true understanding of a client’s requirements and occasionally bringing together ‘siloed’ groups within an organization. Our team has a deep expertise and familiarity with the full spectrum of ICT services, which will allow us to effectively advise our clients on any IT, communications and data management issue that may arise. In addition, the members of the Syska Hennessy ICT group can essentially function as a ‘physical middleware’ for our clients, serving as a single point of contact to liaison between different company departments and even vendors. Our new practice area has the capacity to handle tasks of any size from small projects to enterprise-wide ICT assignments.”
