JMP Engineering was selected as a finalist in the Mobility Solution of the Year category at the 2006 Microsoft Partner Program Impact Awards . A ceremony tonight, Nov. 2 in Toronto, Canada, acknowledge winners of the fourth annual Microsoft Partner Program Impact Awards for “exceptional work technology partners in Canada are doing with Microsoft-based technologies and software to deliver innovative solutions and unmatched value to their customers,” Microsoft Canada says. JMP Engineering was chosen for its Mobile Inventory and Production Solution for Manufacturers, said to streamline manufacturing, reduce plant operating costs, and enhance production functionality, through the entry of raw materials, their status, and consumption into batch production.

JMP Engineering, founded in 1987, says it is a leading industrial system integration company for “engineering and provision of automation, control, and information technologies to enhance manufacturing performance for clients in industries including automotive, food, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, cement, metals, and environmental.”

“Each year, technology partners continue to raise the bar in technology innovation and reaffirm their ability to deliver specific solutions that help meet customer demand,” says Lora Gernon, director, partner group, Microsoft Canada Co. “The 2006 finalists demonstrated strong expertise in a diversity of markets and the Microsoft Partner Program Impact Awards celebrate the innovative solutions they developed to help drive real business growth.”

“As the only industrial automation, control, and data solutions provider recognized, we are extremely honored to have earned this recognition,” said Katherine van Nes, director of manufacturing execution systems (MES) for JMP Engineering. “This repeatable solution, which was originally created for a large dairy foods manufacturer, cost effectively provides real time connectivity between plant floor and ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems, as well as enhancing genealogy tracking, a critical requirement for today’s food and beverage companies.”
