Model 9331-T1 fieldbus temperature input multiplexer from MTL Instruments is built for 2- and 3-wire RTDs, thermocouple, voltage, and resistance inputs, with each unit supporting eight independently configurable temperature inputs. It is suited for such applications as distillation columns, tanks, reactors, and boilers and reportedly can reduce installed costs as much as 70% per point compared to traditional single-temperature inputs. This intrinsically safe, eight-input multiplexer mounts beside the process and uses FOUNDATION fieldbus to integrate with process control systems. It is bus-powered, operating between 9 and 32 V dc, and requires a maximum current of 22 mA. It is designed for harsh environments with hazardous-area certification. Features include support for 8 analog input blocks, 8-channel multiple analog input block, and input selector block providing basic logic such as minimum, maximum, mid-point, or average temperature.
