Temperature sensor: New design for sanitary applications

Configuration meets requirements for food, pharmaceutical regulations.


A new 316 stainless steel indicating temperature device, designed for pharmaceutical, biotech, and food & beverage applications, is now available from Weed Instrument .

In conformance with accepted standards for sanitary applications, the housing of the transmitter has no exposed threads and is resistant to most of the common process and cleaning chemicals typically found in pharmaceutical, biotech and food & beverage plants. Additionally, with its NEMA 4X (IP67) environmental sealing and ability to withstand ambient temperatures of up 158 °F (70 °C), the transmitter is suitable for most CIP and wash-down applications.

The new transmitter features an onboard 4-digit, 7 segment LCD with visible dimensions of 1.31 in. x 0.52 in. (33.4 x 13.2 mm). The decimal point position is adjustable to 0, 1, 2 or 3 decimal places. The process temperature can be configured for display in either °F or °C and the update of the readings is user-selectable between 0.25 to 2.0 seconds, according to the filter on the readings. Accuracy of the display is better that 0.1% of the programmed range,

With ahe transmitter is CE compliant and has been tested for electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with EN 5008-1 and EN 5008-2.
