Temperature transmitters: Two-wire, rail mount units for RTDs, thermocouples, more

Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc
. has released two new, two-wire temperature transmitters, the Sitrans TR200 and the Sitrans TR300, designed for rail mounting. These devices reportedly support all standard RTDs and thermocouples, as well as resistance and voltage inputs.

The Sitrans TR200 temperature transmitter is configured using a PC, and the Sitrans TR300 transmitter can be configured through a HART interface. Both devices feature diagnostic functions capable of indicating open or short circuits so they can be corrected. The company says this feature is particularly useful when dealing with a large number of measuring points. When connected in the 4-20 mA loop, these devices need no additional power supply.

These transmitters are designed to be suitable for use in all industries. The DIN-rail mounting system means that transmitters can be set up and maintained in a central location away from any harsh environmental conditions. The devices are simple to access and can be easily protected against heat and vibration.
