Testing: Wireless communications test set is fast, scalable



Agilent offers the E6601A Wireless Communications Test Set.

Agilent Technologies Inc . next-generation wireless communications test set platform, said to be an ideal solution for calibrating mobile wireless devices in high-volume manufacturing, provides leading measurement speed and integrity and scalability, as well as lower product-test cost. Company said this is the only wireless communications test set that integrates a Microsoft Windows XP PC.

The Agilent E6601A integrates a Microsoft Windows XP-based PC, which allows test programs to be developed, downloaded, and executed in the system, eliminating the test-system PC and saving system space and cost. The E6601A is up to 30% faster than other solutions, company says. New calibration applications for GSM, GPRS, EGPRS, WCDMA, and HSDPA provide scalable, multi-format capability with a software upgrade. Optional Fast Device Tune measurement provides breakthrough test-time improvements for calibration, up to 10x faster than traditional methods
Flexible licensing options enable users to effectively manage test assets and reduce capital equipment by purchasing the licensing option best suited to their manufacturing needs. E6601A connectivity is possible via 100 based-T LAN, GPIB and six USB 2.0 ports.
