Thanks to Kitchell Corp. for posting this photo of the “topping out” of University of California, San Diego, Jacobs Medical Center. The UCSD system has visionary hopes for the new 245-bed tower that will provide a state-of-the-art healthcare environment for the most innovative, patient-focused care available. Designed as three hospitals in one – a cancer hospital, a hospital for advanced surgery and a hospital for women and infants – the 10-floor medical center creates new opportunities for medical advances.

Here is both the topping out photo and a rendering of the future building.
