Upcoming: Canadian Manufacturing Week, Sept. 26-28

Canadian Manufacturing Week , a three-day conference and expo will be held Sept. 26-28, 2006, at the International Centre in Mississauga, Toronto, Ontario. The event occurs every two years and is held in conjunction with the Weld Expo and Metal Finishing Expo. Show organizers expect that manufacturing decision-makers attending will learn about new technology, products, ideas and innovations related to design engineering, plant and facility maintenance and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). More than 500 exhibitors and 7,000 attendees are expected.

Among the presentations, Neil Cooper, general manager of Invensys Process Systems’ Avantis business unit, will be a featured speaker. Cooper will describe a holistic asset performance management approach and examine the challenges of equipment availability, equipment utilization, and business optimization.

One day will include workshops and special sessions and the other two days will each offer four tracks of informational sessions, on topics such as “Safer Alternatives for Manual Parts Cleaning” and “Designing for Profitability.” The industries represented will include metal fabricating, plastics, pulp and paper, agriculture, and machinery.

Pre-registration deadline is Sept. 1.
