Upgrade to field network with I/O blocks, high speed, gateway

Mitsubishi Electric has upgraded and expanded connectivity for its CC-Link IE Field network. Features include integration with TCP/IP field devices, inherent determinism, and flexible topology. Courtesy: MEAUMitsubishi Electric has expanded connectivity for its CC-Link IE Field network. The upgrades include remote I/O blocks for digital input and output, analog input and output, and high-speed input. Other upgrades include a CC-Link gateway for simple access to existing CC-Link equipment, and a number of new CC-Link IE Field cables and accessories. The CC-Link IE Field and CC-Link gateway provide access to CC-Link equipment without requiring a programmable logic controller.

Mitsubishi Electric’s CC-Link IE Field network upgrades are particularly useful for packaging machines with modular components, automotive assembly lines and large material handling systems. They’re also beneficial for automation equipment manufacturers that offer products with CC-Link IE Field compatibility.

Key features of the CC-Link IE Field network include one GB per second transmission speed, flexible topology, integration with TCP/IP field devices, and inherent determinism without Ethernet switches.

The CC-Link IE Field network extends down to the field device level and provides seamless control data transmission between factory assets. These can include automation controllers such as PLCs and computers, and field devices such as digital and analog I/O, pneumatic valve manifolds, RFID readers, VFDs and motion controllers. It connects up to 121 stations on a single network.
