Richardson, Tex. — USDATA Corp. recently began shipping Xfactory, its object modeling manufacturing execution system (MES). “Xfactory has raised the visibility of the production process throughout our value chain, and reduced cost of ownership because our internal domain experts are easily able to incorporate their knowledge into Xfactory’s intuitive production modeling environment,” says Gerald Brasuell, inertial division vp and gm for Syston Donner, the first Xfactory beta tester. Bob Merry, USDATA’s president and ceo, adds, “We expect our customers to see implementation times improve by a factor of six over other MES solutions. Since end-users can change and maintain Xfactory systems themselves, it will also have a very low total cost of ownership.”
