Vacuum-rated, laboratory-grade servo and stepper motors are designed to survive negative pressures as low as 10-7Torr and are temperature-rated at 130 °C internal and 105 °C for the case. Motors meet specialized vacuum process needs of the observatory industry and are also well-suited to laboratory applications, such as space-based optical systems, semiconductor manufacturing chambers, and electron-beam equipment. Laboratory-grade vacuum motors come in 11 standard frame sizes and are suited for all common vacuum chamber/motor design problems, including outgassing, cooling, air leakage, and corona effects.
