Valve for pressure gages and sensors

Small footprint valve isolates and vents pressure devices. Design minimizes leak potential.

The new Swagelok compact gage valve is designed for minimum weight and size, but with high performance and reliability. The design provides quick and positive isolation and venting of pressure gages while minimizing the need for additional physical support.

The company says its streamlined body features Swagelok tube fitting end connections for leak-tight performance, reduced installation time and cost, plus a vibration resistant grip. The design incorporates a purge valve for easy bleeding of trapped fluid pressure between the valve seat and gage upon shutoff. The purge valve is machined directly onto the body, eliminating potential leak points while allowing safe release the fluid before removing the gage. A permanently-assembled purge cap is crimped to the valve body for operator safety and to prevent accidental disassembly.

"Gage maintenance can be very time consuming and operators want to avoid unnecessary downtime with their process lines," says Mike Adkins, valve product manager, for Swagelok Company. "By incorporating both an integral purge valve and tube fitting end connections, we are reducing leak potential and installation time for greater efficiency."
