YVP110 advanced valve positioner from Yokogawa uses digital communication to control a pneumatic actuator mounted to a control valve. It communicates using FOUNDATION Fieldbus protocol, reportedly minimizes transmission lag, improves valve characteristics and response, and reduces flow-pressure variation effects. Device uses the company’s ValvNavi software tool to simplify set-up, tuning, and maintenance. Features include trend data gathering and charting. A variety of diagnostic parameters including valve operating status and characteristics are displayed.
