To help bridge Microsoft Windows CE and NT with RTX real-time calls, VenturCom released its new Win32rt common, real-time, application programming interface (API) on Sept. 15. The free software package is downloadable at VenturCom’s new CENTer (CE, NT, embedded, and real-time) site at www.vcicenter.com . Launched on Sept. 17, CENTer offers free Windows-based embedded and real-time software tools and resources to help engineers create Windows-based embedded and real-time applications. Win32rt is a focused selection of Microsoft’s Win32 API calls that aid design of real-time Windows-based application components and real-time device drivers. Other tools freely downloadable at CENTer include: more than 1,500 component definition files (KDFs) for Microsoft Target Designer; source to NT DPC/Thread Latency Utility; and various reference documents for products, including RTX 4.3 for Windows NT.
