Video: Bosch Rexroth integrates machine, motion control
Integrating machine and motion control saves time and money in machine design, according to Dan Throne, Bosch Rexroth industry sector manager for food packaging and printing industries. See a 2:33 minute video.
Integrating motion and machine control logic within a drive-based architecture can eliminate machine automation costs and simplify machine design, by putting a PLC into a drive. About $100 in extra cost can eliminate the need for a PLC in an application, controlling up 14 axes with connected drives.
Dan Throne, Bosch Rexroth industry sector manager for food packaging and printing industries, explained some of the advantages of integrating machine control and motion control systems, at Pack Expo 2010.
Mark T. Hoske, CFE Media, and Control Engineering, asks the questions. 2:33 minutes
