International design firm Stantec (Edmonton, Canada) announced two buildings-focused acquisitions this week. Stantec acquired the assets of IBE (Sherman Oaks, CA) a 50-person buildings engineering firm that specializes in high-performance, sustainable design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Stantec also acquired AP/ID (Vancouver, Canada), a 20 year old provider of interior design services to a variety of corporate clients. Link to details

Environmental science and planning consulting firm Environmental Science Associates (ESA) (San Francisco, CA), announced that Vigil-Agrimis (Portland, OR), a professional design firm specializing in water and natural resource management, has joined with ESA. Link to details

Engineering and environmental firm, Partner Engineering and Science (Torrance, CA) has acquired the assets of engineering firm Birdsall Services Group (Eatontown, NJ) out of bankruptcy. Partner indicated they intended to operate Birdsall under the Partner name and to pick up all of the firm's existing public and private contracts. Link to details

HLM (London, UK), an architecture, landscape and urban design, interiors, and environmental firm announced a strategic investment to rescue the brand of Llewelyn Davies (London, UK), which had previously closed its practice in April.
