White paper: Ways to use USB in embedded control systems

Costa Mesa, CA — Micro Digital released a white paper entitled “Ways to Use USB in Embedded Systems “ written by Yingbo Hu, R&D Embedded Software Engineer, and the company’s president, Ralph Moore, which presents 11 methods to use USB in embedded systems. Each method’s description includes a block diagram showing how software and hardware function blocks connect together, along with a description of how the subsystem operates.
Examples are: PC to device via USB Serial, PC to device via USB disk, Web server access via RNDIS (Ethernet over USB), USB multi-port serial device, USB thumb drive support, USB to WiFi, and connection to multiple sensors and actuators.
