Wireless: Learn more about WirelessHART via Internet presentation

By Control Engineering Staff July 6, 2007

One of the interesting subplots of the wireless standards debate going on right now is the development of the WirelessHART protocol at the same time the ISA SP100 committee is doing its work. HART Foundation executive director Ron Helson and chief engineer Wally Pratt were invited to present an overview of their technology to the ISA SP100 committee. You can hear their presentation and see their slides via the Internet.

The presentation was recorded live and provides a comprehensive overview of the latest enhancements to the HART Field Communications Protocol (HART 7). The enhancements include WirelessHART and promise to be fully backward compatible with existing instrumentation. Topics discussed in the presentation are: technology features, design requirements, security, use cases and applications, connectivity options, deployment and commissioning, and more. The presentation is about 45 minutes long and plays on PC and Mac platforms.
