Lake Forest, CA— To recognize users proficient in applying ArchestrA to create open automation and information solutions, Wonderware announced July 11 its FactorySuite A2 Certified Systems Integrator (SI) program for integrators using FactorySuite A2 configurations built on ArchestrA. The new program designates SIs who complete specialized training in effectively implementing FactorySuite A2 solutions featuring the Industrial Application Server and have implemented FactorySuite A2 projects in the field. Wonderware is a business unit of Invensys Systems Inc.

FactorySuite A2 certification is Wonderware’s latest addition to its systems integrator program. Existing programs recognize registered systems integrators and, at a higher level, certified systems integrators, who have achieved certification on one or more FactorySuite products. All three programs help customers and distributors find SIs with the appropriate skills to develop integrated solutions for specific applications. FactorySuite A2 Certified Systems Integrator program provides additional business growth and profitability opportunities for SIs by recognizing proficiency in FactorySuite A2 system integration.

Wonderware reports that using the ArchestrA’s Integrated Development Environment and Object Toolkits allows SIs and customers take advantage of unprecedented levels of project engineering productivity and software reuse. These capabilities reduce the cost and time of developing and deploying new projects, and lessen the need for ongoing maintenance, updates and expansion.

‘End-users and plant owners, who want to reap the productivity and ongoing life cycle cost improvements of products built on ArchestrA technology, will have access to a pool of talented systems integrators, who have been trained to maximize the benefits of ArchestrA technology,’ says Mark Davidson, Invensys’ marketing VP for ArchestrA. ‘The new program tier provides systems integrators with a credential that recognizes their enhanced capability to work with Wonderware products that are built on ArchestrA technology.’

ArchestrA is an open framework for creating industrial automation and information products, applications and services. It includes an industrial applications development platform, which customers, OEMs, SIs and third-party developers can use to develop efficient and competitive production systems. ArchestrA enables reuse of engineering, which reduces the costs and time of developing new projects. The total cost of ownership for projects is reduced as well, since using this architectural approach facilitates easier extension and expansion of current and legacy plant systems with the latest Microsoft.NET technology so that production operations stay competitive.
