Even as its FactorySuite 2000 automation software debuted at Hannover Fair, Wonderware Corp. (Irvine, Calif.) also unveiled third-party enhancements. For instance, Wonderware and Inform GmbH (Aachen, Germany; Oak Brook, Ill.) jointly announced April 20 that Inform’s fuzzyTech module is now available to add fuzzy logic (FL) capabilities to FactorySuite for PC-based control and process visualization applications. The plug-in ActiveX module, called FactorySuite Edition of fuzzyTech, acts just like an editor. A double click loads it into InControl, where users can create applications. After downloading to the runtime application, the FL object is executed in the FL engine within InControl and InTouch. The object-based module lets users design, test, and optimize fuzzy logic systems graphically. The module is available now from Inform and will be available soon from Wonderware.
